Fairly clean hotel, lovely beds, delicious breakfasts and attentive staff. Nice enough area, central location near train station, the attractions such as Ely Cathedral and the cathedral. Easy check in and in general exceptional service. With warm reception.

The royal standard is a charming old building, beautifully updated while keeping unique touches like the old bread oven by the bar. It's conveniently located just a short walk from the cathedral, river, and shops. The full english breakfast was excellent, especially the homemade spicy black pudding. The staff were super friendly and immediately helped us with our bed arrangement.

Couple getaway well done
We had a cozy room with a lovely rainfall shower that was like pure luxury & the mattress was so comfy, I slept like a baby. The breakfast was really good, best full English I've ever had, it was quite the way to start the day.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive but you know what, worth every penny I spent.

The beautiful double room with bath was spacious and cozy. Had air conditioning, a shower, a hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries like shampoo and body soap.
